Rome Remembers
The Rome Memorial Day Committee
and the Rome Area History Museum partnered with the White House
Commission on Remembrance to bring the city of Rome a day of Reflections and
Remembrance. It was a fantastic day! Click on the picture for more photos.

10:30 Flag lowering at City Hall
11-4 Activities at Rome Area History Museum (due to rain): military displays, Tiger Flight activities, Rangers will teach kids how to create camouflage, BBQ for sale at Mitchell Plaza
3:00 National Moment of Remembrance
5:00 Historical Parade on Broad Street with soldiers and mourners from every war since Revolution. The Cherokee Artillery and 8th Regiment Band will participate in the parade. The SCV Camp 469 will shoot cannons. Sons of American Revolution participated in parade. Due to inclement weather Tiger Flight was not able to perform a fly-over in WWII era planes.
6:00 Services at Myrtle Hill Cemetery to follow parade
These activities were free to the public. The Rome Area History Museum was open special hours 11-4:30. Over 200 people came through the Museum.
