DECEMBER 2005
Candlelight Tour
December 10 - 6 pm
The Rome Area History Museum is hosting its Annual Candlelight Tour on Saturday, December 10 from 6-9pm. This annual holiday event in beautiful downtown Rome provides an opportunity for you to visit the Museum exhibits by “candlelight,” take a carriage ride down Broad Street, snack on gingerbread and cider, talk to costumed living history interpreters, and listen to live music. Enjoy the beautiful decorations of local garden clubs throughout the Museum. Make Victorian ornaments with your children.
Acting as tour guides, students from Pepperell High School’s local area studies class will share their new-found knowledge of Rome’s history. These students have been studying Rome’s history all semester. They have toured Broad Street, the Rome Area History Museum, Chieftains, Martha Berry Museum, and Myrtle Hill. This class gives students a sense of how Rome came to be what it is today.
Admission is a suggested donation of $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for children. The carriage ride is $6.00 per person.
